Wisconsin Judge makes food gardening illegal?

Yes, it would seem so, although I’m sure his ruling will be overturned.

Read the original Sugar Mountain Farm blog about this here.

Scared yet? I can’t believe this happened, but hopefully it’s just one crazy, angry judge. The big ag lobby has their hooks deep into this guy.

The judgement document can be found here. The main points are:

1) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to own and use a dairy cow or a dairy herd;

2) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow;

3) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to board their cow at the farm of a farmer;

4) no, the Zinniker Plaintiffs’ private contract does not fall outside the scope of the State’s police power;

5) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to produce and consume foods of their choice;

  2. Judicial Tyranny. They think they can tell you how to live and make you bow down and say “yessah, massah” and like it. The 9th Circuit Court is famous for doing this kind of stupid thing, looks like more of the high and mighty are getting the idea they can mandate life style to the peasantry.

    • Slowly but surely they’ll pass a law about everything. I wonder if the unbearable weight of judicial precedent conflicting with common sense has ever before been the reason for the fall of a nation.
