Seed starting indoors under lights – 2011

It’s that time of year again and I have started a couple trays of seeds so far. Pictured above are some cabbage, kale and parsley.

I like the way this one turned out.

And exhibit B, a tray of lettuce. I am actually behind my paper schedule already, but it’ll be alright. Don’t worry!

Having a fan blowing over your seedlings helps in a number of ways. It makes them grow strong, resilient stems. It helps circulate air (obviously) which leads to much less damping off. Also, it helps evaporate overwatering by your helpful children. 😀

My crawl space is not always as messy as shown in the fan picture. Usually it is much worse. Now you know.
