Radishes are me-firsters!

So this is how it’s going to be, isn’t it?  Every year, the radishes jump up and shout after a few warm days and some rain…”Ooh, ooh!  Pick me first!  I’m ready!  Over here!”

Radish were my first too! They’re so obliging, popping out of the soil before one can get too impatient, and fitting into all those spaces that would otherwise go to waste. I’m trying to leave some to get really fat and spicy, but keep accidentally eating them as I pass (with mud garnish)…

  2. They look delicious! What variety were they?

  3. Shown are Cherry Belle and French Breakfast, left to right. These were picked small. The biggest is probably smaller than a quarter in diameter.

Yum! I love how pretty they look!

  5. Your radishes look great! Hope your rhubarb jam turns out well. We just ate the last jar and will be canning more soon.

  6. The jam was delicious! We’ve been able to share some too!
